HP Photosmart C4780 Printer Review
Expert review of the HP Photosmart C4780 printer
The HP C4780 inkjet printer is a medium to low end, all-in-one device. A jack of all trades, the C4780 offers Wi-Fi connectivity, a photocopier, scanner and printer – ideal for the home office. HP are renowned for quality and the C4780 is no exception, durable and consistent, this all-in-one won't let you down.
Design
The HP Photosmart C4780 inkjet printer is relatively small, weighing in at just over 10lbs. It features a 3.8cm touchscreen LCD panel which comes with basic functions such as copy and cancel prints. HP has really thought about connectivity with this printer. The built in memory card reader accepts a number of different types of media which is ideal if you want to print directly from your camera or phone. The biggest downfall in terms of design is that there's no paper output tray which means you need to be there to collect the print-outs - not ideal if you are printing large volumes.
Advantages
The HP C4780 inkjet printer has wireless capabilities which are perfect for households with more than one device to print from; it also means you can hide the printer away if you are low on space in your bedroom or office. Print quality is impressive for both text and graphics with little blurring or fading. As for photos, the quality is average instead of outstanding – colours did seem slightly washed out.
Disadvantages
Considering the price, the HP C4780 doesn't have much in the way of faults. It would be nice to see fax functionality included as well as the option to accept micro SD cards. Spooling time was also an issue which meant prints took a lot longer than expected.
