A small business that needs a workhorse of a printer can rely on the HP LaserJet Pro MFP M127fn black and white multifunction printer to deliver high volume output. It's praised for being easy to set up and having a range of connectivity features, but the absence of duplex printing and lack of environmentally friendly operation make the LaserJet Pro M127fn mono laser printer less reliable and pricier to run.
Design
HP combined a rugged and industrial design in the LaserJet Pro M127fn multifunction printer, but it's exceptionally light at 9.1Kg and compact with a narrow footprint that measures 420mm wide, 309mm tall, and 365mm deep. The universal design integrates a flatbed scanner with an automatic document feeder and a digital copier. The HP M127fn laser printer is a monochrome unit that is powered by a 600MHz processor and runs on 128MB of memory. The paper capacity of the HP LaserJet M127fn MFP is 150 sheets for input and 100 sheets for output. The control panel has a two-line LCD display and an organised set of buttons for one-touch operation and easy input of commands.
Advantages
A driverless setup makes it quick to install, while the automatic document feeder saves time. The HP LaserJet Pro MFP M-127fn mono multifunction printer supports ePrint, mobile apps, and Apple AirPrint. Text and simple graphics can be printed sharply in 600x600 on plain paper and select specialty media. There's a 33.6Kbps fax machine that can store up to 500 pages in its memory and 100 numbers in speed dial. The HP LaserJet Pro MFP M127fn works with PCLms and PCLm print languages. Replacing the HP M127fn toner cartridge is easy and this is the only consumable for the machine.
Disadvantages
Though aimed at high volume usage, the HP M127fn MFP does not have automatic two-sided printing and this can affect the workflow and overall productivity. It's not the greenest multifunction printer around, and there are no options to expand the memory and paper capacities of the LaserJet Pro M127fn printer. There are no built-in wireless capabilities either, unfortunately.
