Brother MFC-L8690CDW Multi-functional Printer

Bought this as a replacement for a 7yr-old Samsung CLX-6260FW which suddenly decided to print extremely faded prints over all the page and all colours. An engineer visit proved the machine did not need cleaning or new belts etc. and so the the only thing he could think of was an electronics fault causing the high voltage charge on the drum that picks up the toner wasn't as high as it should be. This would be a pain to properly diagnose and repair, so a new machine was decided on. As the Samsung machine is no longer made, we decided that this Brother machine was the one to go for. So far we have had no problems with printing or copying, however we cannot seem to set up scanning to a network drive, the printer just reports it cannot see the drive, even though we had no problems with the old printer. If anyone can shed any light on this, I would appreciate knowing..! It will scan directly to a PC, which is ok, but I really want to be able to scan to the network drive as it means a PC doesn't have to be switched on and I don't have to walk back and forth between my desk and the printer..!

This, a replacement for a 9 year old printer, was chosen because of facilities, good print quality, simplicity and reasonable cost of toner cartridges from Cartridge save, along with excellent delivery. Always found ( over many years) Customer service to be first class.

It's been just 3 days since I bought this Brother printer. I fancied it until now. It has all functions I need such as duplex printing, duplex scanning, colour printing, wi-fi printing and scanning, NFC printing and scanning, multiple pages scanning from Auto Feed. There is email and file scanning function, which I liked so much, as well. There is a faxing function yet I didn't use it. The software is also looks versatile but I didn't use at all. I can add my comments about it in the coming days. The only CON I can say is the size and weight of the printer but it is not a big issue for my point of view indeed. The price might have been lower but as I searched the market deeply, this printer is the price/performance monster I can add. Up on my 3 days experience, I really recommend this printer.

The printer was very easy to set up and it works just fine and is also a bit quieter than the previous one.
