The Brother DCP-J1100DW is a 3-in-1 wireless inkjet printer offering printing, copying and scanning capabilities. It has a 20-sheet document feeder tray which means continuity of print runs is easy and speedy, providing up to 12 images per minute in mono and 10 images per minute in colour, with a first page out time of less than nine seconds. It also produces automatic two-sided printing with a print resolution of up to 6,000 x 1,200 DPI (vertical x horizontal).
Design
The DCP-J1100DW is compact in size, with dimensions of 43.5 x 34.1 x 19.5cm (width x depth x height) and weighing 7.69kg. It has an 8cm LCD touchscreen and a 150-sheet standard paper tray. Software includes Nuance PaperPort 14 SE5 document management and sharing programme and Brother Control Centre 4 for Windows, with easy access to functions such as Scan, Photo Print and PC-FAX direct from the computer.
Advantages
The DCP-J1100DW offers a range of connectivity options so that printing is straightforward. As well as connecting via wireless network, users can also print with mobile or tablet devices using the Brother iPrint&Scan app, which enables you to set up and share across multiple users and devices with ease. The SD card slot and USB port means that you can also print from memory cards or flash drives. Printer functions include reducing up to 2, 4, 9 or 16 into just one A4 page, poster printing, watermark printing of documents with predefined text or with your own user-defined messages, and booklet printing. It also offers ID printing so you can add identification to printed documents including date and time, a short custom message or PC username.
Disadvantages
The Brother DCP-J1100DW is a fast, affordable printer suitable for most offices, but it does not include an ethernet port.
