The Brother HL-J6100DW uses Brother LC3239XLBK ink cartridges. Brother LC3239XLBK ink comes in black; the black cartridge prints 6,000 pages.
Designed for homes and offices where space is at a premium, the multi-function Brother HL-J6100DW is a taller printer that can still be positioned on a desk. Featuring three separate trays that take sheets up to A3 size, it can also create double-sized prints up to this size in order to save on paper. The colour scheme features a muted shade of grey, along with a darker grey flash to highlight the LED screen. The warm-up time is 0 seconds, and there is a quiet mode to keep noise to a minimum during a run.
The Brother HL-J6100DW inkjet printer measures 681w x 576d x 574h mm and weighs 28.1kg. Although it is not one of the bulkier models, it does have a 750-sheet paper capacity. The NFC technology means that authorised personnel can access the unit by touching it with their card. Other security features include a function lock, which can be opened with a login code, and Secure Print, which is accessed via a 4-digit pin.
In a busy office, the Brother HL-J6100DW printer model can be taken out of the box and set up in minutes. It fires up immediately, and the time to first print is six seconds. To assist users in programming in a print run, there is a 6.8cm LCD colour touchscreen. From here, it is possible to manage the number of pages to be printed and also monitor ink levels, so empty cartridges never come as a surprise. The Wi-Fi connection can also be used to set up the scanner, and scans can be sent direct to office applications.
This printer may be too small for larger businesses but too large for some homes and offices. Furthermore, although the LCD screen is packed with functionality, some users may find that it is too small for their fingers.
