Budget-friendly but promising high-quality output, the Brother MFC-240C is suitable for the discerning photographer and home users that are looking for a versatile all-in-one printer. Unlike its predecessors, it is fast, scans well, and produces good copies, but some of its crucial features need further improvement.
Design
Integrated with PhotoCapture, PC fax, a 14.4 Kbps fax modem, a flatbed scanner and copier, and a colour inkjet printer, the Brother MFC-240C is designed to be a versatile and efficient an all-in-one device that weighs almost 8 kg and runs on 16MB of RAM. The control panel is conveniently positioned on the top front centre of the device and the buttons are grouped according to their functions to make them less overwhelming. There is a small 1-line LCD screen in the centre, while right below the control panel are the media card slots and PictBridge port.
Advantages
The Brother MFC-240C is superior in most aspects — it scans well, prints fast (up to 25 ppm in monochrome and 20 ppm in colour), and produces excellent output in resolutions of up to 6000x1200 dpi. Aside from that, this multifunction printer is praised for its affordable price and cheaper inks. Users can print directly from a digital camera or media card, and the automatic document feeder helps them save time when copying, scanning, and faxing. Disadvantages
