Engineered to suit the discerning needs of graphic art and design studios, the Canon ImagePROGRAF iPF6450 is a superior wide-format machine with the capability of printing on stationery up to 610 millimetres across. Using the roll-feed, the Canon iPF6450 24-inch large format printer can print drawings up to 18 metres long too. USB and Ethernet interfaces support large workgroups while an optional spectrophotometer adds rapid-scan capability.
Design
The Canon ImagePROGRAF iPF6450 inkjet printer boasts a robust, no-nonsense design with total dimensions of 1,227 x 751 x 1,001 millimetres including the stand and roll feeder. The Canon iPF-6450 ImagePROGRAF large format inkjet printer weighs 70kgs. The maximum paper roll size is 150 millimetres and there are two manual slots for cut sheets of up to 250 x 610 millimetres. Using the roll-feed, users have the option of generating edge-to-edge prints without borders. The full-function operator’s panel has a spacious LCD screen plus 18 function buttons and LED lights. A capable 250GB hard drive ensures smooth printing and streamlining of bigger prints as well as PC-less reprints.
Advantages
Canon ImagePROGRAF 6450 printers utilise 12-colour Canon PFI-106 ink sets and, together with maximum 2400 x 1200dpi resolutions, guarantee printed articles are imbued with clear script, images and outlines while colours are faithfully reproduced. The iPF6450 inks and the machine’s layering process also safeguard against accidental scratching and print bumps. The iPF6450 graphic arts printer comes with plug-ins for Adobe Photoshop and Microsoft’s Office Suite, while Gallery Wrap is the ideal tool for producing bespoke canvas prints. For such a large machine, power usage is a surprisingly low maximum of 100 watts when the Canon iPF6450 printer is in use.
Disadvantages
A decent output stacker and a wireless interface would perfectly complement the attributes of the ImagePROGRAF iPF6450 colour printer.
