The Canon MultiPass C400 is a multifunction ink jet printer, which includes the ability to print in colour, scan, copy and fax. It is an attractive looking device which has a compact design making it easy to find a sport for even when space is limited. Setup and operation are easy, thanks to the comprehensive control panel and LCD screen. Designed for domestic use or for a home based business, the printer has all the functions you require in one device, but it is not the most efficient of machines. Printing speeds for both colour and monochrome documents are slow, meaning that printing more than a couple of pages at a time can be frustrating and its use of ink can be inefficient.
Design
The Canon MultiPass C400 has an attractive design with a white casing, with a blue control panel and lid. It measures 40 x 36 x 20 cm, making it a compact device. Paper is stored in the paper feeder with a capacity of 100 sheets. The printer connects using a parallel interface and printer operations can be navigated from the control panel on the front of the device which includes an LCD screen. On the top, the lid lifts to make it easy to place documents for scanning, copying or faxing. Printing resolution is 720 x 360 dpi.
Advantages
With the ability to print, scan, copy and fax in one device, the Canon MultiPass C400 is a useful machine if you require all these functions but space is at a premium. The machine is straight forward to operate and easy to monitor from the LCD screen.
Disadvantages
With slow printing speeds, printing on the Canon MultiPass C400 takes a long time, even for just a few pages. Although upfront operating costs are low, the printer can be uneconomical with ink needing frequent cartridge changes.
