Expert review of the Canon MultiPass C735 printer
The Canon MultiPass C735 is a multifunction colour printer which utilises inkjet technology. As well as a colour printer, the device also incorporates a fax machine, copier and scanner, allowing all of these useful office machines to be incorporated into one compact device. With economical consumables, the printer is cost-effective to run, allowing the running costs to be easily met by a family or small business. This printer is straight forward to set up and operate, thanks to the comprehensive control panel on the front of the device. There is no internal storage for paper, so paper may be damaged if left unused for too long. If you are likely to be carrying out a lot of colour printing, be aware that print speeds are slow.
Design
The Canon MultiPass C735 has a sturdy white casing and dimensions of 44 x 42 x 24 cm. Connection is achieved via a USB or parallel interface. A paper feeder with a capacity of 100 sheets is located on the rear of the machine. All functions on the printer are managed from the control panel on the front of the printer which includes a 1-line LCD screen. Printing speeds are 7 ppm for black and white documents and 3 ppm for colour documents. Printing resolution is 1440x720 dpi.
Advantages
With a compact design incorporating four office machines, the Canon MultiPass C735 can be used even when space is limited. Setup and operation of the printer are straight forward. Running costs of the printer are low, making it an affordable model for those on a budget.
Disadvantages
Colour printing on the Canon MultiPass C735 takes a long time, making the printing of multiple photographs or other colour graphics a laborious task. As an older model, replacement parts may be difficult to source if required.
