Canon MultiPass F30 Printer Review

Expert review of the Canon MultiPass F30 printer

Our Verdict:
star
star-filled

The Canon MultiPass F30 is a multifunction printer with the ability to print in colour, scan and copy. It is designed for use in a home or home office. Print quality is good and fast with a high standard of colour accuracy. With Energy Star compliance, it will keep your energy consumption to a minimum, reducing the printer's environmental impact and saving you money. Maintenance on the printer is straight forward, resulting in minimal downtime for cartridge replacements. This printer is not suitable if you want one which operates on a network and it does not include a fax function, so be aware of these factors before purchase.

Design

The Canon MultiPass F30 has print speeds of 17 ppm in black and white printing and 12 ppm for colour documents. The paper capacity of the printer is 100 sheets. When copying documents, they can be enlarged or reduced from 25% to 400%. The dimensions of the printer are 44 x 58 x 32.5 cm and it has a stylish white and blue casing. Connection is achieved via a parallel or USB interface. The control panel includes a two-line, 20-character display screen. Printing resolution is 600 dpi in monochrome and 1200x2400 dpi in colour.

Advantages

By achieving FCC Class B certified, IC Class B, UL, cUL, and by being Energy Star certified, the Canon MultiPass F30 can help you reduce energy costs and your environmental impact. Ink cartridges are easy to replace.

Disadvantages

Automatic duplexing is not possible on the Canon MultiPass F30 and although it is a multifunction machine, there is no fax capability. Finishing options are not included, and it does not work as a network printer. The LCD screen can be difficult to read, and your computer may not recognise the printer unless you switch the printer on first.
