The Canon PIXMA G6040 is a multifunction printer with printing, scanning and copying capabilities, making it an ideal printer for small or home offices. It is easy to connect to the cloud via the Canon PRINT app, the PIXMA Cloud app and Ethernet, and printing with AirPrint (iOS), Mopria (Android) and Windows 10 Mobile make it flexible and user-friendly. It is also MAC compatible. Copy functions include documents, photographs, borderless, two-sided, two-on-one, four-on-one, frame erase and ID copy, and its copy zoom capability is 25 to 400% in 1% increments.
Design
The G6040 weighs 8.1kg and has dimensions of approximately 403mm x 369mm x 195mm. It has a tiltable front panel with a two-line LCD display. It's easy to monitor the ink levels, usage and stages with the Management Information Base, and the automatic duplex printing and a plain paper capacity of 350 sheets mean that work can continue steadily with fewer interventions. Paper types it accepts are plain, high-resolution, photo paper plus glossy finish, photo paper pro platinum, photo paper pro lustre, matte photo paper and envelopes.
Advantages
The G6040 has refillable ink tanks that are filled using mess-free bottles. The print yield is up to 18,000 pages from three black bottles or 7,700 pages from a three-colour set, which keeps the quality high while offering a low cost per page. With fast printing speeds of around 13 ipm for monochrome, 6.8 ipm for colour and 37 seconds for borderless photo prints of 10x15 cm, it helps increase output and offers crisp, sharp text and vivid colours.
Disadvantages
The Canon PIXMA G6040 is a good, multifunction device offering flexibility and reliability for small enterprises or single users. However, it is not designed for larger organisations that require longer print runs and high output.
