The Canon Pixma MG3053 uses Canon 8286B006 ink cartridges. Canon 8286B006 ink comes in tri-colour and in black; the tri-colour cartridge prints 300 pages and the black cartridge prints 400 pages.
The Canon Pixma MG3053 is a versatile all-in-one printer with Wi-Fi connectivity and a range of cloud features. It's perfect for home use and includes the ability to print from mobile devices or a camera. Effortless scanning and copying make this a great all-rounder, and optional high capacity Pixma MG3053 ink cartridges can be installed to cut costs per page by up to 30%. The standard 'FINE'cartridge system offers colourful and crisp text and images in mono and colour.
The printer measures 14.5 x 42.6 x 30.6cm and has a brushed blue finish on the top, and a silver finish on the main unit for a sleek and compact design. A range of tactile buttons on the left hand side of the 3053 offer easy inputs, though users can also use Google Cloud Print, Apple AirPrint and Mobile via smartphones and tablets for hands-free operation. The standard connections are USB and wireless.
The Canon Pixma MG3053 has a print resolution of up to 4800 x 600 dpi for pristine quality and features double-sided duplex. It is possible to print images from social networking sites, such as Instagram and Facebook, plus other cloud services, including Google Drive and Dropbox, using the PIXMA Cloud Link in the Canon PRINT app. It also supports square paper alongside other standard formats and is generally very quiet during operation. Users can be creative with the intuitive Easy-PhotoPrint+ capabilities.
The MG3053 may take some time to warm up and print out following commands, and installing cartridges can be tricky. Its limited paper sheet stock and tray support means it is unsuitable for main office use. There is no fax option either. There are no fax capabilities or Ethernet, so other inkjets may be more suitable for larger environments requiring heavy and very fast workloads.
