The Canon Pixma MG5250 uses Canon 4529B006AA ink cartridges. Canon 4529B006AA ink comes in black; the black cartridge prints 341 pages x 2.
The Canon MG5250 is a mid-range multifunction device which is packed full of useful features that you wouldn't get from a budget printer. Ideally suited for home users the Canon PIXMA MG5250 inkjet printer features a scanner, copier and can be used as part of a network thanks to its built-in Wi-Fi.
Sleek and professional, the Canon MG5250 looks fantastic, its relatively slim profile makes a change from some of the bulkier all-in-ones on the market. It comes with a pop up LCD display which is easy to navigate and can be used to control the printer's functions. There are not one but two paper feed trays with a combined capacity of 300 sheets. The printer also comes with three memory card slots and a PictBridge socket for direct connection to USB drives or digital cameras. Canon has thought of everything including extendable hinges on the scanner, so it can handle books as well as single sheets.
Print quality is fairly impressive for a mid-range all-in-one. The MG5250 handles text documents equally as well as photographs and the copier churns out replicas which are remarkably close to the original. The added ability to print directly onto CD or DVD really sets the Canon MG5250 inkjet printer ahead of its competitors.
Duplex printing caused problems for the MG5250. Not only was the quality poor but speeds were dramatically reduced. As a mid-range all-in-one printer it would have been nice to see fax functionality as well as the option to connect via Ethernet. Ultimately, for a mid-range all-in-one, you can't go wrong with the Canon MG5250.
