The Canon Pixma MG6220 uses Canon 4529B006AA ink cartridges. Canon 4529B006AA ink comes in black; the black cartridge prints 341 pages x 2.
Not the best choice if you're on a budget, the Canon Pixma MG8220 is the priciest of the Pixma series, but its features surely offset the high price tag. This multi-function can print, copy, and scan, with film and slide scanning and CD or DVD printing as added bonuses. It still has the 6-tank cartridge system of its high-end Pixma MG brothers, allowing top quality glossy photo prints. The Canon Pixma MG8220 also features the futuristic touch panel that MG8000s are famous for, though it does not have an ADF feature.
The Pixma MG8220's matte black finish is a refreshing departure from the usual glossy finishes from Canon, which was prone to smudges and fingerprint marks. It has the same touch-sensitive controls and a tiltable colour display, all integrated in the scanner lid. Under the hood is a flatbed scanner and a special film adapter unit for scanning negatives. The Canon Pixma MG8220 still integrates 3 different media trays for handling a variety of paper media and for direct disc printing. USB, Wi-Fi and Ethernet come as standard.
The Canon Pixma MG8220 features the latest wireless and web printing functionalities, and can print and scan directly from and to mobile devices. Print speeds are 7.9 ppm (text) and 2-3ppm for half-page photos, but these vary according to the source as well as the media used. It has PictBridge support and slots for an array of memory cards. It is also more economical, using 6 separate inks rather than multicolour tanks.
The Canon Pixma MG8220, however, lacks the versatility of an ADF feature. While photo outputs on glossy paper are excellent, images on plain paper tend to have brighter oranges.
