Expert review of the Canon Pixma MG6340 printer
There are so many inkjet multi-function printers on the market that it can be difficult to differentiate between the various models. The Canon PIXMA MG6340 printer model is a fast, smart multi-functional printer designed to produce excellent results both for home and creative users. It produces text swiftly, delivering 25 pages of text at around 13 ppm, with colour graphics reaching 2.6 ppm under the same conditions. It both scans via Wi-Fi and using USB, achieving resolutions of up to 600 dpi, with sharp images and excellent colour accuracy. Its six ink system produces superb results, even with shaded detail. Both colour and greyscale photocopies can be undertaken at between 12 and 21 seconds.
Design
The Canon MG6340 all-in-one has a touchscreen surrounded by a dark panel featuring touch-sensitive buttons that light up only when they are relevant, which helps users keep things simple. Its dimensions are approximately 435 x 316 x 145mm (width x depth x height), and it has acoustic noise levels of around 46.0dB(A).
Advantages
The Canon MG6340 PIXMA printer model has two paper input trays and supports duplex printing, with a high print resolution of 9,600 x 2,400 dpi as well as a scanning resolution of 2,400 x 4,800 dpi. The printer takes six ink cartridges, which are accessed via a lift-up control panel. Inkjet printers are good at blending smooth colours, so they are a sensible choice for colour graphics and text and can print onto may types of paper including textured stationery and glossy photo paper. Some models can even print on some types of fabric.
Disadvantages
The PIXMA MG6340 Canon printer is an excellent multi-functional printer but is not particularly cheap to buy or run. When making a decision on which model to purchase, this device would be a good investment for those who want excellent quality results.
