An inkjet, "all-in-one" device, the Canon Pixma MP282 allows you to print, scan and copy. Canon built this machine with the home user in mind – photographic print quality is fantastic – making it ideal if you want to print a range of different documents from photos to graphics and text.

Design

The Canon Pixma MP282 isn't the smallest device on the market, but is no means big. It stands at a respectable 450 x 335 x 153mm – allowing you to easily store it on a desk or shelf. The Pixma MP282 can hold up to 100 sheets, which is more than adequate for home use. The printer comes with a selection of function buttons that allow you to control the printer independently. At the rear of the printer is a USB port, disappointingly, there are no memory card slots, which comes as a shock as the printer is made with photo printing in mind.

Advantages

The Canon Pixma MP282 produced lab quality colour prints – photos appear vibrant and sharp. And whilst the scanner lacks ADF features, it has an intuitive document reader, meaning it can judge the type of paper you are scanning, and save it in the most appropriate file type.

Disadvantages

The addition of a memory card reader would have been welcomed. It would also have been good to see WiFi – especially as most households have more than one computer. Having said that, print quality far exceeds expectations making the Canon Pixma MP282 excellent value for money.
