A sleek all-in-one photo printer, the Canon Pixma MX895 promises high quality printouts, faxes, copies, and scans. This midrange device is one of the newest multifunction inkjet printers from Canon, which is notable for its significantly larger display, duplex printing, ADF, and PC-free functions. However, the Canon MX895 can be expensive to run and overall speeds are unimpressive when compared to faster all-in-one devices.
Design
The printer function of the Canon Pixma MX895 is well-equipped for 9600x2400dpi resolution printing with its inkjet 5-colour system print engine. The minimalist control panel is noticeable for the flip-top 7.5cm TFT screen and the dual function panel. The fax modem's maximum speed is 33.6kbps and PC faxing is possible in full colour. The Pixma MX895 has a simple yet sleek appearance with an ADF-equipped CIS flatbed scanner conveniently located at the top.
Advantages
The Canon Pixma MX895 can directly print from memory cards and digital cameras, and it is network-ready for the PIXMA Cloud Link feature and Wi-Fi. There is a 35-sheet automatic document feeder for the copier and scanner, and an auto duplexer. Users can scan documents and photographs to a USB flash drive without a PC. The scanner comes with an OCR software and gutter shadow correction feature for better-looking output. It is possible to use the Canon Pixma MX895 as a standalone fax machine.
Disadvantages
