Have your very own photo lab with Canon Pixma Pro-1, an advanced artwork and photo printer and the first outside of Canon's large-format models to have 12-inks. This device is a must have for those who want the most compatible printer for their EOS SLRs, as Canon Pixma Pro-1 is inspired by the series. It boasts better colour and more precise prints, and even allows glossier prints with its Chroma Optimizer. The printer is just as good when handling matte media.
Canon Pixma Pro-1 features large ink tanks which are easy to access and quick to replace should they run out. The ink delivery system is tubular, with the tanks housed on the side, therefore increasing print speed. A typical 13x19" print will finish in about 4 minutes and 20 seconds. It features a dual paper path for glossy and semi gloss media, plus a manual paper feed at the back for other fine art media. The Canon Pixma Pro-1 allows you to create a network via the Ethernet connection, making it ideal for multiple user environments.
The Canon Pixma Pro-1 has tons of advantages, starting from its print speed, versatility, and better colour interpretation (thanks to the 12-ink system), as well as its capability to handle different media. It has the same old Easy Photo-Print Pro plug in, which can be used for Photoshop to ensure accurate colours. The 12-ink system also extends the colour range.
Ink cartridges can be very expensive. You don't have to replace them all at the same time, though.
