This sleek and compact printer delivers high quality and affordable colour printing because of Canon's signature FINE technology. USB connectivity makes the Canon Pixma iP2850 inkjet photo printer a good candidate for a desktop and entry-level printer at home, but it may not be versatile for a small office and busier environments.

Design

The Canon Pixma iP2850 printer is a no-fuss single function device with a plain, sleek plastic frame that weighs 2.4Kg and measures 426mm wide, 235mm deep, and 134mm tall. Its compact size will not take up much space on a standard office desk or desktop. It requires two ink cartridges: a pigment-based black and three-colour cartridges. Hi-Speed USB 2.0 is the only interface of the Pixma iP2850. Up to 60 sheets of plain paper can be loaded at a time into the paper tray.

Advantages

The Canon Pixma iP2850 A4 colour inkjet printer supports a wide variety of media types, including glossy paper and envelopes. The colour ink cartridges are made with fade-resistant dyes that make the device reliable for printing photographs and display media. XL cartridges are also available for the Canon iP2850 printer making ink usage more economical. Bundled software like Quick Menu and Printer Driver simplify installation and operation, while My Image Garden provides a user-friendly photo editing tool. The Pixma iP2850 prints monochrome output in speeds of up to 8 IPM.

Disadvantages

This device supports two-sided printing but via manual operation. Borderless printing isn't available with the Canon iP2850 desktop printer. Colour print speed is slower than the mono print speed, at only 4 IPM. Wireless connections aren't supported by the Canon Pixma iP2850 photo printer.
