This Citizen CD-S500 receipt printer is a useful aftermarket solution to the provision of sales receipts and the creation of end-of-period reporting using your own point of sales system. The printer is sturdy yet compact and offers a range of paper options, allowing you to choose what works best for your business. Basic monochrome output will not be off-putting within the sales setting, although the lack of wireless connectivity may be a disincentive for some potential purchasers.
Design
Available in black and white, this compact Citizen CD-S500 receipt printer measures 6.1 inches wide by 9.8 inches deep by 5.2 inches high and weighs in at 4.85 pounds. The printer is designed to work with receipt rolls of 2.3, 2.75 and three inches, with a maximum outer roll diameter of 3.3 inches, giving you flexibility in your printing.
Advantages
This monochrome dot matrix Citizen CD-S500 printer uses a nine-pin head for its two-colour output and can be connected with your point of sales system to create a take-away record of sales and purchases as well as being capable of creating end-of-sales period reckonings, depending on the software to which it is connected. The receipt printer can print up to five lines per second on a three-inch roll, up to 5.4 lines per second on a 2.75-inch roll or up to six lines per second on a 2.3-inch roll. This printer features an integrated buzzer and is capable of performing in temperatures of 32 to 122 degrees Fahrenheit and in humidity of between ten and 90 per cent.
Disadvantages
Unfortunately, the Citizen CD-S500 lacks any colour printing function and is a wired model, which limits placement options within the workplace. Some may struggle with the character sizings of 0.049 inches by 0.123 inches and 0.062 inches by 0.123 inches.
