The Citizen IR90 is a very compact printer for receipts with a lightweight and portable frame, making it suitable for rugged environments and mobile businesses that lack space. The Citizen IR90 dot-matrix printer runs with built-in batteries that last long enough, but it is best for low volume output in a small business.

Design

Weighing approximately 0.4Kg, the Citizen IR90 printer is easily portable, while the palm size design makes it easier to integrate the machine into any business environment. It runs on 2Kb of buffer memory and connects to Windows computers via parallel centronics or a RS-232 serial cable. The IR-90 impact printer can accommodate a single standard 2.25-inch roll of paper.

Advantages

It is small, lightweight, and supports bit image graphics printing. Users are alerted when the Citizen IR90 is about to run out of paper or when the battery is about to become completely drained. An optional battery pack may be purchased for extra mobility, or regular batteries can be used. It only takes 1.5 hours to complete the quick charge for the Citizen IR90 ribbon printer. Maintenance is easy with only a single black Citizen IR-90 ribbon to replace.

Disadvantages

Output does not tend to last long and may fade over time when printed using the Citizen IR 90 because of the dot-matrix technology.
