The Epson EcoTank ET-M2170 is a wireless monochrome all-in-one supertank printer that provides high-volume and high-quality output. Providing printing, scanning and copying functions, it does not use cartridges but operates with easy-to-fill, supersized ink tanks. Each bottle includes enough ink to print up to 6,000 pages, which helps users save up to 75% on replacement ink costs compared to monochrome laser models. It offers standard connectivity via USB, Wi-Fi and ethernet, making it easy to use mobile printing solutions, including Epson Connect, Epson E-Mail Print, Epson iPrint App (iOS and Android), Epson Remote Print, Google Cloud Print 2.0 and AirPrint 1.8. It also provides voice-activated printing and enables organisations to save energy with lower power consumption.
Design
The ET-M2170 weighs 13.7lb and has dimensions of 14.8 inches x 13.7 inches x 11.9 inches, and its compact design means it is an easy fit for any office. It handles a wide selection of paper sizes, including 4" x 6", 5" x 7", A6, half letter, letter, A4, executive and legal, with a maximum paper size of 8.5" x 47.2.”
Advantages
The ET-M2170 has fast print speeds of 20 pages per minute in monochrome and nine pages per minute for duplex prints, with a maximum print resolution of 1200 x 2400 dpi. The 250-sheet paper tray and automatic duplex printing provide steady output, and there is less need for staff intervention during print runs. Powered by Epson’s PrecisionCore printing technology, the minimum ink droplet size is 2.8 picoliters.
Disadvantages
The Epson EcoTank ET-M2170 is a good all-around printer, copier and scanner, but it only produces output in monochrome, so it does not provide the flexibility on colour printing that some organisations will require.
