The Epson EcoTank ET-M3140 is a 4-in-1 monochrome multifunction printer that is designed to help reduce printing costs, save energy and provide reliable, high-quality output. Suitable for one to three users, it is ideal for small offices, home offices and personal use. The high-capacity refillable ink tank means that there is no need for ink cartridges, saving both time and money. It’s rated to print up to 11,000 pages before refilling, and users could save up to 90% on the cost of ink. There is no warm-up time, and it can print up to 20 pages per minute, increasing efficiency even further.
Design
The ET-M3140 measures 375mm x 347mm x 346mm (width x depth x height) and weighs 7.3kg. It’s 6.1cm colour touch panel also enables users to select features quickly. It has one paper input tray and handles paper many paper sizes, including A4, legal, letter, executive, A5, A6, B5, B6, C6 (envelope), DL (envelope) and No. 10 (envelope). The time to first page out is six seconds. It has a maximum duty cycle of 20,000 pages per month, with a print resolution of 1,200 x 2,400 dpi.
Advantages
The ET-M3140 has a PrecisionCore printhead that offers excellent speed and efficiency, and the 250-sheet input tray means that users need to add paper less often and can save money with automatic double-sided printing. In addition, the automatic document feeder (ADF) can scan and copy several pages at a time, improving output and saving staff time during print runs.
Disadvantages
The Epson ET-M3140 is a good, sturdy multifunction printer, aimed specifically at the small office market and produces monochrome prints only. It is not suitable for larger organisations that require more complex printed documents or long, high-volume print runs.
