The Epson Stylus SX130 uses Epson C13T12814010 ink cartridges. Epson C13T12814010 ink comes in black; the black cartridge prints 190 pages.
The Epson Stylus SX130 is an affordable multifunction device that ensures more savings in the long-run because it uses individual ink cartridges. Designed to be versatile and user-friendly, this space-saving printer is aimed at students, families, and budget-conscious small offices. The print speed and output of the SX130 are acceptable but nothing to get excited about.
The box-type exterior is sleek and compact, with minimal buttons in the control panel, which is conveniently located on the right-hand top corner. One paper input tray is provided, and the robust Epson SX130 can accommodate up to 100 sheets of A4 media. The paper feeds from the back of the Epson Stylus SX130 and comes out from the front. The flatbed CIS scanner covers most of the area on top and can scan at a resolution of 600x1200dpi. The Stylus SX-130 printer weighs 3.9kg and connects to a computer via USB only.
Because the Epson Stylus SX130 uses the 4-colour ink cartridge system, users only need to replace one empty cartridge when it runs out, so they save money. The simple aesthetic does not make the SX130 stand out, but it still maintains a sleek design, which can complement any room. It is easy to operate the scanner and copier of the Epson Stylus SX130, and it can even function as a standalone copy machine if required.
It can be a hassle to install the Epson Stylus SX130 on newer operating systems like Windows 7 because; users need to download the driver themselves. Others complained of noise while printing. Epson claims that this printer can print up to 28 ppm in monochrome and 15 ppm in colour, but actual speeds are much slower. Aside from that, there are no straightforward networking options on the Epson Stylus SX130. The scanner needs better resolution for quality images, and the ink cartridges consume too much ink per use.
