The Epson WorkForce Pro WF-C8690 uses Epson C13T04A-PACK ink cartridges. Epson C13T04A-PACK ink comes in black and multicolour; the black cartridge prints 11,500 pages, the multicolour cartridge prints 8,000 pages.

The WF-C8690 Epson WorkForce Pro printer incorporates Epson’s signature inkjet technology together with low environmental impact, high productivity and low intervention for small workgroups seeking A3 as well as A4 capability. This model is also ideal for specialist verticals such as healthcare, education, public administration and retail to help them meet their print and corporate social responsibility (CSR) needs. It delivers everyday A4 documents speedily, with a first page out time (FPOT) of 5.5 seconds as well as offering a wider range of uses for A3 documents such as booklets, brochure drafts, construction site plans and in-house leaflets.
Design
The Epson WF-C8690 WorkForce Pro inkjet printer has a 5-inch colour touchscreen, so users are able to access common printing, scanning, copying and faxing jobs, and it also integrates with other web-based applications via the Epson Open Platform, such as PaperCut MF. It has a 500-sheet tray for standard paper handling, plus a 250-sheet tray and an 85-sheet rear tray.
Advantages
Aimed at small to medium-sized businesses, the WF-8690 WorkForce Pro series model offers printing, copying, scanning and faxing as standard features. It has an ISO speed of up to 24 ppm in black and colour, and the maximum draft speed is up to 35 ppm, while the duplex speed is 16 ipm. Epson’s inkjet technology, PrecisionCore, uses a high density print chip that is able to generate up to 40 million precise dots per second. This model also supports both PCL and PostScript as well as Epson’s proprietary printing language. Standard features include USB, Ethernet and Wi-Fi connectivity, plus mobile printing is supported via the Epson Connect solution, and this incorporates Email Print, Remote Print and iPrint Mobile App. Users can also use Kindle Fire, Google Cloud Print and Apple AirPrint
Disadvantages
The Epson WF-8690 model is aimed at medium-sized businesses but is not for offices that have high volume printing requirements.
