The HP AMP 125 uses HP 304 ink cartridges. HP 304 ink comes in tri-colour; the tri-colour cartridge prints 100 pages.
The HP Amp 125 is a thermal inkjet printer and Bluetooth speaker in one compact unit. It is useful for a domestic setting with occasional printing needs, but it is likely to struggle with a large volume. Thanks to apps and wireless connectivity, it is straightforward to print directly from a phone or other smart device. The quality of the speaker is good, allowing you to listen to both music and speaker calls through the printer. However, this is not an efficient printer. Duplex printing must be done manually, and the paper capacity is low. Additionally, the tri-colour cartridge may result in ink wastage and unnecessary expense.
Measuring just 405 x 177 x 145mm, the HP Amp 125 is a compact machine with a white casing. Print speeds are 18.5ppm in monochrome and 15ppm in colour. The device’s print resolution reaches 4800 x 1200 dpi, and the estimated monthly duty cycle is 1,000 pages. It takes two ink cartridges, one black and one tri-colour. A paper tray holds 60 sheets. Connection to a computer is achieved wirelessly and via Bluetooth.
With a speaker and printer all in one, the HP Amp 125 saves on space. Thanks to the HP smart app, it is easy to print photos directly from your phone and monitor the ink levels, reordering when necessary. It can pair with your phone to access all your favourite music with great quality and can accept crystal-clear speakerphone calls. A built-in USB port allows for convenient phone charging.
The HP Amp 125 is designed to reduce the number of devices needed, thus saving space. However, as there are no scan, copy or fax functions, more space may be needed for additional devices. Print speeds are on the slow side. A tri-colour cartridge may result in ink wastage. It will not cope well with a large printing volume.
