Expert review of the HP Designjet Z9+ 44-in PostScript printer
For large-scale fine quality printing, the 44-in HP DesignJet Z9+ PostScript printer model is ideal. With fast printing speeds and excellent print resolution, this thermal inkjet printer uses a total of nine ink cartridges to produce sharp colour that is accurate and clear. This is not a printer that is needed in every office, but it is perfect to produce marketing posters, banners and large-scale design printouts.
Design
The set of colour cartridges for the DesignJet HP Z9+ PostScript inkjet printer includes grey, cyan, magenta, yellow, two black cartridges (matte and photo) and three chromatic shades (red, green and blue). The unit features both a roll feed and a top sheet feed, as well as the rear sheet feed used for printing on rigid materials, such as plastic. There are several connectivity options, including standard, fast and gigabit Ethernet and USB.
Advantages
The PostScript 44-in HP DesignJet Z9+ offers a print resolution of 2400 x 1200 dpi and a print speed of more than 71 square metres an hour. An automatic cutter finishes off the printing and cuts it to size. Media types include photographic paper, self-adhesive paper, banners and coated papers. Rolls of up to 1118mm wide can be used. Despite the large size, this printer is easy to move, thanks to the base unit that is on casters, and it does not require desk space. Software provided for this printer includes HP Web JetAdmin and HP DesignJet Utility.
Disadvantages
Connectivity is only available via a wired connection. This is not the most flexible HP DesignJet series printer model, so most offices will require a second machine for additional functions, such as scanning and copying. It is a printer that is designed for a specific type of work rather than everyday office use.
