A reliable colour printer, the HP Deskjet 1180c is a good addition to any home or small office setting. It is compact and lightweight, and can be used with major operating systems and IBM-compatible computers. It supports parallel and USB ports and is networkable, but does not support wireless connectivity. The HP Deskjet 1180c also runs on an 8 MB RAM, which offers fast data transfer and operation. Still, it does not have the versatility of an all-in-one machine.
Design
The HP Deskjet 1180c has a primary input tray that can hold up to 150 sheets of regular paper, 15 pieces of envelopes, and 60 card sheets. The manual feed can be used for feeding thicker media into the machine. The HP Deskjet 1180c uses two ink cartridges, one of which contains all three colours (CMY). It measures about 23.3x9.2x26.5 inches with the paper tray fully extended, leaving a fairly small footprint.
Advantages
In 'best' mode, the HP Deskjet 1180c can print black text at 3 pages per minute, and mixed colour text or graphics at 2 ppm. Full colour pages come out at a rate of 2.7 ppm in 'draft' mode.
