The HP Deskjet 2149 (Deskjet F2149) is an all-in-one in the middle ground of HP's 2100 series. It is a printer, scanner, and copier in one, and is compatible with Windows operating systems (Windows 98 SE or later) Mac OS X v10.3 and higher. It prints 4"x6" photos in as fast as 2 minutes and 25 seconds in high resolution, and normal mode black text at 7ppm. However, the HP Deskjet 2149 does not have wireless and fax capabilities, which can be a turn off for those looking for a 'real' all-in-one.
Design
The HP Deskjet 2149 is a box-type multifunction with a pull-down paper drop. There is an intuitive control panel to the left of the flatbed scanner, lined by LEDs that indicate various warnings and available functions. The HP Deskjet 2149 measures 7.1x16.8x10.5 inches - small enough to fit most desktops.
Advantages
All-in-ones are good value choices, and the HP Deskjet 2149 is no exception. It offers 3-functions in one and boasts decent print, copy, and scan speeds (although copy and scan speeds still depend on the complexity of the document). The copier uses digital image processing and is integrated with an image editor for fast and easy editing of scanned photos.
Disadvantages
The HP Deskjet 2149 is not a good choice if you need connectivity as it does not have an optional Bluetooth or Wi-Fi interface.
