This Officejet multifunction device is designed for enhancing productivity and lowering overall running costs. With scan, print, and copy functions, the HP Officejet Enterprise Color X585dn multifunction printer eliminates the need to buy separate devices and streamlines the workflow using a single robust and reliable machine that is secure, easy to configure, and simple to use. However, the Hewlett Packard X-585dn Officejet Color printer is expensive, sluggish for bulk printing and lacks upgrades for the growing workgroup.
Design
The Officejet Enterprise Color X585dn combines an inkjet printer with a digital copier and scanner in a robust and boxy machine that weighs 36.3kg and measures 533mm wide, 546mm deep, and 574mm tall. The HP X585dn MFP has two high-speed USB host ports and a high-speed USB 2.0 device as standard connectivity, with gigabit Ethernet, hardware integration pocket, two internal USB hosts, and a foreign interface. The system runs on 1792 MB of memory. There's a 50-sheet automatic document feeder, 50-sheet muliti-purpose tray and 500-sheet input tray for standard paper handling. The highlight of the industrial build is the eight-inch colour touchscreen.
Advantages
The HP Officejet Enterprise X585dn colour laser printer is versatile for high volume use with optional high capacity inks and additional 500-sheet tray. Automatic two-sided printing is standard, as well as support for mobile printing via HP ePrint. The HP Officejet Color X-585dn printer is network-ready and compatible with many types of specialty media. Sharp and vibrant colour documents and graphics can be produced in high resolution. There are built-in security solutions and a program for centralised control and monitoring. Print cartridges for the Officejet X585dn printer are very cheap and economical considering that the black HP 980 cartridge offers a capacity of 10,000 pages and each of the colour HP 980 cartridges is capable of printing up to 6,600 pages.
Disadvantages
The quoted print speeds of the HP X585dn colour laser MFP are insufficient for high volume needs. There's no envelope feeder. The Officejet Enterprise Color X585dn laser multifunction printer doesn't support borderless printing, and its memory isn't expandable. The Wi-Fi upgrade is quite pricey.
