Developed for businesses, the HP OfficeJet 8012 is an advanced unit with copy, scan and print functions. It is a highly connected machine that allows users to create, scan or copy a file on the go using HP Smart and then print documents when dealing with a customer so they are ready and waiting. This is an excellent solution for busy workplaces where remote connectivity is required and team members may need to meet with customers out of the office.
Design
Despite its advanced functionality, the HP OfficeJet 8012 measures a reasonable 19.5 x 7.1 x 18.9 inches and weighs17.2 lb. This means it is a desktop printer that won’t dominate the space in a busy office. Using the LCD colour display screen, it is simple to manage a range of complex tasks, and shortcut buttons can be created to speed up the most commonly needed functions. Both Apple and Microsoft operating systems are supported, along with a range of cloud software, such as Google Cloud Print and AirPrint.
Advantages
Using the Smart Tasks software included with the printer, it can be 50% faster to scan, print and manage documents. When someone in the office needs to connect with people elsewhere, it is possible to scan to an email or a cloud destination, such as Google Drive or Dropbox. The HP OfficeJet 8012 is simple to sync with a range of business software, and once the link has been established, it will print, copy or scan multiple pages. It can produce a run of up to 18 pages per minute in monochrome, and the input tray takes 225 sheets, allowing a workspace to be as efficient as possible.
Disadvantages
Although the HP OfficeJet 8012 is well-connected in terms of Wi-Fi, it does not have the ability to fax, which could be a drawback in some offices.
