An efficient all-in-one that allows PC-less operation, the HP PSC 1210A2L is a good multifunction printer. It is compact and leaves a relatively small footprint. Best of all, it integrates a copier, scanner and printer within the one machine. The HP PSC 1210A2L boasts a monthly duty cycle of up to 1000 pages a month. However, it lacks automatic duplexing, networking capabilities, and wireless configuration. Occasional paper jams can also be an annoyance with the PSC 1210A2L.
Design
The HP PSC 1210A2L looks a lot like earlier versions in the HP PSC series, with the flatbed scanner on top of the unit and USB port (for connecting to PC) on the rear end. It has a 100-sheet paper tray and measures only 16.8x10.2x6.7 inches. This makes the HP PSC 1210A2L a good fit even for small home offices.
Advantages
Some advantages of working with the HP PSC 1210A2L include fast print speeds of up to 12 and 10 ppm for both monochrome and colour prints, as well as high print resolutions of up to 4800x1200 dpi for colour prints. The copier can also produce 12 cpm, while the scanner comes with an image editing program along with OCR software which can transform scanned text into editable form.
Disadvantages
The HP PSC 1210A2L may be packed with features, but it still lacks a few, like networking capabilities, fax, auto duplexing, media card slots, as well as PictBridge support, which allows direct connection to compatible digital devices.
