Expert review of the HP PSC 950vr printer

Our Verdict:
star
star-filled

Not only does the HP PSC 950vr print, copy, and scan – it can also work as a fax machine and boasts an impressive answering machine interface. This multifunction printer delivers decent quality prints for both text and graphics, and even photos. The HP PSC 950vr has a 2000 page monthly duty cycle and a 100-sheet input capacity. Print speed is slow and connectivity options are limited, however.

Design

The HP PSC 950vr is a bulky piece of machine with a flatbed scanner and an inkjet printer. It has memory card slots built-in on the side and a control panel on top. There is also a monochrome LCD display on the PSC 950vr to support PC-free copying.

Advantages

An economical 4-in-1, the HP PSC950vr can be used with Mac or Windows computers and comes with built-in memory card readers for photo printing. The copier can even function without turning on a PC. The HP PSC-950vr has a fax machine with a convenient answering machine interface.

Disadvantages

Users cannot use this printer for workgroups as it only offers USB connectivity; it does not even have a parallel port. Printing speed as well as well as copying speed is very slow. The HP PSC 950vr printer has a maximum print and copy speed of 12ppm for monochrome and 10 ppm for coloured.
