Expert review of the HP PageWide Pro 452dwt printer
The HP PageWide Pro is one of the most cost-effective, high-yield printers available, it outclasses other printers in the same price bracket, due to its combination of high performance lasers and fast output. It also includes an abundance of convenient mobile features, with support for NFC, Wi-Fi Direct, AirPrint and 802.11n wireless. The 1200 x 600 dpi is particularly impressive and offers exceptional detail.
Design
The PageWide Pro 352 uses four large ink cartridges, which are inserted behind a panel that can be popped back, near the front of the unit. Its large frame is sturdy and ideal for medium-sized or bigger spaces, while the brushed white finish will complement any office. There is also an easy access, digital display housed on the top of the unit.
Advantages
The HP PageWide Pro 452 offers incredible speed and colour and low running costs, which makes it an excellent all-round package for office spaces. It uses HP’s PageWide tech with a full width static print head rather a traditional inkjet cartridge, which offers 55 ppm print speed and makes it perfect for busy workgroups. Colour reproduction is also excellent, with bright, eye-catching primary colours. Remote printing from the web and mobile apps is also quick and simple.
Disadvantages
While the 452 is generally feature rich, it doesn’t include embedded access controls, so colour usage and page limits cannot be applied for specific users. It can also react badly when certain paper types are used and colour can slow down its pace to a degree, though this is not an uncommon trait among printers. Choose your regular paper carefully, cheaper 80gsm paper is likely to wrinkle a little when printed, while 100gsm paper produced very presentable prints.
