The HP PageWide Pro MFP 477dwt uses HP 913A ink cartridges. HP 913A ink comes in cyan; the cyan cartridge prints 3,000 pages.
The HP PageWide Pro 477dwt is perfect for a workgroup or small office, with its impressive running costs, all-in-one feature set, and near-typesetter quality prints and excellent graphics. The printer offers a maximum print resolution of 2400 x 1200 dpi and a max optical scan of 1200 x 1200 dpi, and is more than a match for laser inkjet rivals. Either 7,000 page colour cartridges or 10,000 page black cartridges will give the best value for money.
The HP PageWide Pro 477dwt is sleek and attractive, with its brushed white finish and a contrasting dark, right-hand panel, which folds over to form an output tray for up to 300 pages. A covered shelf beneath can be used to store paper and there is a gorgeous, full colour touchscreen at the top for easy inputs, in addition to a 50 sheet automatic document feeder. The unit measures 46.3 x 53 x 40.7cm and weighs in at just over 22kg.
Test have shown the HP PageWide Pro 477dwt to output a single A4 mono page in just seven seconds, while larger loads of 25 pages or more have an impressive rate of 34.9 ppm. Photocopies are also quick, with a single page in colour or black needing only eleven seconds. The Professional setting delivers excellent prints and peak power consumption doesn’t exceed 60 watts. There are also multiple mobile connection options in addition to standard Ethernet. The low power consumption of 58 watts makes the 477dwt ideal for users requiring low running costs.
While printing and copying impress on this machine, the HP PageWide Pro 477dwt did show up some artefacts when scanning at 600 and 1200 dpi resolutions and there is no option to disable additional sharpening. The 'Twain' scan interface has improved during recent iterations but it still can be frustrating to navigate.
