The HP Photosmart 100 uses HP 57 ink cartridges. HP 57 ink comes in tri-colour; the tri-colour cartridge prints 500 pages.
A small, portable photo printer, the HP Photosmart 100 is an excellent personal device and travel companion, offering photo-centric features and high-resolution prints that reach a maximum of 2400x1200 dpi. It is lightweight and easy to use and comes standard with USB interface for direct PC connection. The HP Photosmart 100 is limited to Windows computers. It features slots for memory cards and for connecting to various cameras.
Whether used as a personal printer at home or as a reliable companion on the move, the HP Photosmart 100 delivers surprisingly high quality photos, considering it only measures about 5x9x8 inches. The machine features card slots for various types of memory sticks, along with a port for direct connection to compatible digital cameras. The Photosmart 100 uses a single ink cartridge consisting of CMY printer inks. The top panel contains the controls and a small LCD for adjusting settings.
The HP Photosmart 100 portable inkjet printer can be used with different cameras including Canon, Kodak, Epson, Nikon, Olympus, Fuji, Toshiba, and Casio. This makes the machine a versatile device. While the Photosmart 100 uses tri-colour ink, replacement tanks are not as high-priced, and can produce a good number of 4x6 photos before getting depleted. The device weighs only 3 pounds, making it very portable.
The HP Photosmart 100 only works with Windows computers. However it does support a long list of cameras and storage devices. Hewlett Packard themselves would also have to admit that the Photosmart 100 is not one of their fastest printers, as it takes 3 minutes to produce one 4x6 picture.
