Ideal for photo enthusiasts and even for business owners in need of an instant photo printer, the HP Photosmart 245xi can produce high resolution pictures in a matter of 2 minutes or even less. The device offers all the same features as the base model, only the HP Photosmart 245xi offers networking, which allows users to share the printer over an established network. It however, does not offer PictBridge support, and can only print 4x6 inch photos, although borderless printing is offered.
Design
The HP Photosmart 245xi is compact and simple. The paper tray is right upfront and can hold as many as 20 sheets of quality photo paper. The same tray can be flipped up to conceal the front panel of the Photosmart 245xi as well as the memory card slots when not in use. On the top panel is an LCD display, which is large enough for monochrome text display but not full-photo previews. Surrounding the LCD display are control buttons for toggling basic printer functions on the HP Photosmart 245xi.
Advantages
While this machine does not offer blazing print speeds, it can produce photos with very high quality, reaching a maximum resolution of up to 4800x1200 dpi. The HP Photosmart 245xi photo printer also has a low upfront price, although it is a little bit more expensive than the models from the previous series (Photosmart 145).
