The HP Tango X is a colour thermal multifunction printer that is designed for home use with small-volume printing demands. The Tango X model has the same specifications as the Tango model except that it has a blue fabric cover that wraps around the device. HP designed this printer to print emails, documents, webpages and lab-quality photos with bright, rich colours. The printer uses a black and a multicolour cartridge. This unit includes printing, copying and scanning functions, and the copy and scan functions use HP’s Smart App. It will print on a range of media, including plain paper, photo paper, labels and matte paper. The printer accepts a wide range of paper sizes, including legal.
Design
The unit weighs 9.75kg and measures 376 x 206 x 91mm. The printer has a standard paper input tray with a capacity of 50 sheets. The HP Tango X is a smart device that uses voice-activated printing and Wi-Fi connectivity. It features a 360 MHz processor and 256MB of RAM. The printer’s rated monthly duty cycle is 500 pages. However, HP recommends limiting the monthly volume to 100 to 300 prints.
Advantages
The print speed is 20 pages per minute for monochrome documents and 19 pages per minute for colour documents. Monochrome print resolutions are up to 1200 x 1200 dpi, and colour print resolutions are up to 4800 x 1200 dpi. Disadvantages
This printer is designed primarily for home use, so offices with larger printing requirements will need to look elsewhere to find a printer to meet their needs. The recommended print volumes are extremely low, so this printer is more of a speciality device than a production device. It also has a low capacity input tray of only 50 pages, meaning it will frequently need refilling.
