The Kodak ESP 3 uses Cartridge Save 10 ink cartridges. Cartridge Save 10 ink comes in black; the black cartridge prints 425 pages.
The Kodak ESP 3 is an all-in-one inkjet that can scan, print, and copy, like most MFPs in the market. It is one step ahead when it comes to running cost, but compared to other all-in-ones in its price range, the Kodak ESP 3 is lagging behind in terms of print quality (especially text and graphics), design, and software. The machine comes with a media card bay and boasts vibrant photo quality, but still has a long way to go to compete with other MFPs with better quality text prints and better hardware.
The Kodak ESP 3 comes in a sleek back finish and measures some 6.9 x 16.6 x 11.8 inches, which is relatively smaller than other MFPs. It has a flat bed scanner, a couple of memory card slots, PictBridge port, and a control panel on the top surface, but no LCD display from which to view photos or adjust printer settings. The Kodak ESP 3 also uses 2 ink cartridges for text and photo printing.
The Kodak ESP 3 is indeed very compact for an all-in-one device. The addition of an on-board media card reader makes it more versatile, when it comes to inputting print jobs. It comes with good software for photo touch-ups, and can print, copy, and scan as a standalone device.
The Kodak ESP 3, however, fails to provide quality text and graphics outputs. Print speeds aren't that good either. Had an LCD screen been included, the machine could have fared better with the competition. Still, it scores high when it comes to ease of use, making it an ideal choice still for average-use homes.
