For businesses that need to produce larger prints, the Canon ImagePROGRAF LP24 is a good choice as it can handle up to A1 prints quickly. A signage print task can be completed in just five steps, with only five inks required to create the sharp colours needed for quality printing and PosterArtist software is included to ensure that signage can be created easily without the need to outsource printing work. The device offers sharp printing resolution with 1200 x 1200 dpi in black and white, and 2400 x 1200 dpi in colour.
The unit comes with a roll feed unit and features an economy mode that allows more cost-effective printing in draft form, reducing ink consumption by around 50 per cent. The unit is designed to work with an array of media types including standard paper, photo paper, and transparencies. The design includes a large LCD panel that makes using and setting up the printer easy, and a fan system that helps to keep the noise levels down. The unit is rather large with dimensions of 99.7 x 98.9 x 99.1 cm and a total weight of 68kg. This printer can be connected via USB or a wired network.
An A1 colour print can be completed in 33 seconds, and borderless printing is an option. There is a scan to enlarged print option when used with a compatible multi-function device as well. The design of the printer allows for easy paper installation, accepting paper ranging from 80 g/m2 to 300 g/m2.
The overall size of the Canon LP24 printer and the larger scale of its printing means that it is unlikely to be a suitable fit for most home or home office environments. The unit has now been discontinued by Canon, so advice should be sought before purchase.
