The HP Deskjet 3732 is an all-in-one printer with print, copy and scan functions. It produces prints and documents of a good quality. It is a decent budget option for a home where space is at a premium for the printing of holiday snaps and documents and occasional scanning. It will particularly suit a household that needs to print photographs from different devices. However, it is let down by a slow printing speed, which may make it unsuitable for households with more demanding printing and scanning needs.
Design
The HP Deskjet 3732 has measurements of 40.3cm x 14.2cm x 17.7cm. It has a bright and attractive design. Connectivity is achieved via a USB port or Wi-Fi. A pull-out tray at the back loads the paper, which emerges onto a tray at the front. An LCD screen displays the status and setting of the printer. Ink cartridges, one black and one tri-colour, are loaded at the front of the printer.
Advantages
This printer is economically priced and can print wirelessly from household devices. Maintenance is straightforward, with the ink cartridges accessed easily from the front of the machine. An HP app for both Android and iOS allows the printer to be recognised easily by smart devices. The quality of both colour prints and black and white documents are good, with a maximum resolution of 4800 x 1200 dpi. The small size of the printer allows it to fit easily into a home.
Disadvantages
The cheap price of the HP Deskjet 3732 has meant that there are some compromises on the quality of this printer. The print speed is slow, with speeds of 7.5-ppm mono and 5.5-ppm colour. The scanner can be tricky to operate, and copying is also slow. The paper guide for scanning is short, meaning that it is hard to get the paper aligned correctly.
