HP Deskjet 3760 Printer Review

Expert review of the HP Deskjet 3760 printer

Our Verdict:
star
star-filled

The HP DeskJet 3760 is a standard all-in-one home printer that comes with the ability to scan and copy. The printer includes a compact design that will not take up too much space, with very good performance and print quality for the low price, although operating costs are a bit high.

Design

The Deskjet 3760 is billed as the smallest all-in-one printer in the world, and it certainly seems to live up to that claim. The new printer measures 140mm (height) x 403mm (width) x 180mm (depth). This compact design has been partly made possible by removing the traditional A4 flatbed scanner, with users now required to feed pages into the scanner by hand. The DeskJet 3760 comes with an up-to-date white and blue finish.

Advantages

The text quality of prints is good, and while documents lack the smoother outlines produced by some of the more high-end inkjet printers, the output is perfectly acceptable for simple documents, such as school reports and letters. The colour graphics are also good, and when using glossy photo paper, the DeskJet 3760 can also produce some extremely attractive photo prints. The print speed is eight pages per minute for monochrome text and four pages per minute for colour text, speeds that are perfectly fine for light home use.

Disadvantages

The DeskJet 3760 is a bit on the noisy side, as the rather lightweight plastic casing tends to noticeably rattle when the printer is in use. The printer does not support borderless printing, so if you print photographs onto photo paper (A4 or 4x6in), they will always have small white borders surrounding the image.
