The Brother PT-1000 electronic labeller is an ergonomically designed and lightweight electronic labeller for use in homes, shops or workplaces. It’s designed for use with the maker’s TZ tapes, or ones of a similar ilk, and accommodates three different tape widths plus genres including non-laminated and iron-on cloth. A spacious keypad and LCD display round off this device’s delights.

Design

The Brother PT-1000 handheld label printer measures only 110 x 200 x 56 millimetres and weighs 0.37kgs. This enables it to fit snugly into the palm of the user’s hand. The keypad is logically laid out with the eight-character display panel sitting above the numeric pad and the alpha keys below that. It has the option of selecting from 241 characters and the 59 most commonly used symbols. The P Touch PT-1000 label printer incorporates a preview function to save on TZ wastage. It can accommodate TZ tape in six, nine or twelve millimetre formats. This machine is powered by six AAA batteries. An AC adapter is an optional extra.

Advantages

Offering a 180dpi resolution, the Brother PT-1000 printer delivers clearly legible characters in eight different styles and with a choice of Helsinki or Oklahoma fonts. The P Touch 1000 label printer can generate 10 millimetres of tape per second from a maximum tape length of eight metres. The cutter mechanism is manually operated and maximum character height is 9.1mm. A shortcut app allows users to set up repeat numbers or character streams.

Disadvantages

The Brother PT1000 label machine would be more environmentally friendly and cheaper to use with a rechargeable battery instead of replaceable ones.
