Brother designed the P-touch 1290VP desktop label machine to be a versatile printer for all labelling needs. The Brother PT-1290VP desktop labelling machine is easy to use, so users can easily create crisp labels with minimum fuss to save time, but it lacks a better and longer lasting power source.

Design

The Brother P-Touch PT-1290VP label maker measures 159mm wide, 157mm deep, and 62mm thick, and it weighs approximately 485g. The memory can handle up to 720 characters. Data input is through a QWERTY keyboard, and the text is easily previewed on a one-line, 15-character LCD display, which displays 19 languages. The memory supports up to nine locations, with up to 80 characters per location. Six auto formats are supported, and up to nine labels can be printed repeatedly. The P-Touch 1290VP printer comes with a manual paper cutter.

Advantages

The compact frame saves space on a desktop. The Brother PT-1290VP P-Touch desktop labeller can create narrow labels like the ones for CD spines and cassette tapes. Up to two lines can be printed on a tape. It lets users create stylish labels with Deco Mode. The Brother PT1290VP labeller prints in speeds of up to 10mm per second with a resolution of up to 180dpi. Seven types of frameworks are supported. An adapter is supplied with the PT 1290VP label machine, unlike with other models in the series.

Disadvantages

The Brother PT1290VP desktop label printer requires six AAA batteries to run. There's no tray for the labels. The P-Touch 1290VP label maker can only in print one font.
