PC connectivity is one of the best features of the Brother PT-1950 that make it more versatile as a deluxe desktop label printer for workgroups. The P-Touch 1950 is a PC ready labeller for small workgroups and supports laminated labels. It has a neatly laid out keyboard with one-touch keys for simplified operation, but the Brother PT1950 label printer doesn’t work with non-Windows operating systems.
The robust frame measures 2.1 inches tall, 9.1 inches deep, and 7.1 inches wide, and weighs 0.73Kg. The Brother PT-1950 label maker is engineered with thermal transfer technology. The built-in USB allows plug-and-play PC connectivity. Data input is via a QWERTY keyboard with a preview feature from the 10-character and two-line LCD screen. There's an automatic cutter in the Brother P-Touch PT1950 labelling machine to save time.
The Brother PT-1950 desktop labelling system can produce bar codes and laminated labels that are 6mm to 18mm wide in size. Users can make labels from their PC or directly on the machine. It can run on six AA batteries in case electricity is unavailable. The Brother PT-1950 comes with an AC adapter in the package, along with a 12mm black and white starter tape and a label design software. The print speed of the P-Touch 1950 desktop label printer is up to 10mm per second and the resolution is 180dpi. Two font types in eight styles are supported. Up to nine similar labels can be reproduced through the multi-copy print feature.
The USB-ready Brother PT-1950 labeller doesn’t support database printing, date and time stamp, rotate printing, and multi-blocking. It’s not that portable due to the bulkier size than most handheld label makers.
