There are lots of different names for Santa Claus. In the UK, we most commonly use Father Christmas, Santa or Santa Claus. But he is also known as Saint Nicholas, Saint Nick, Kris Kringle and Santy.
Where does Santa live?
Father Christmas lives in the North Pole. It’s so cold there that it always snows, which helps keep Santa in the Christmas spirit.
How does Santa manage to do all his deliveries in one night?
Because he is very clever. Scientists believe it’s because he’s able to exploit the space-time continuum (ask your Dad or teacher!) but we just believe it’s because he’s magical!
Who helps Santa?
Throughout the year, Santa’s elves help him to make all the toys he needs to make sure all the good boys and girls across the world get a present. On Christmas Eve, his sleigh is pulled by his trusty flying reindeers who make sure he can deliver gifts to children all around the world in one night.
What are the names of Santa’s reindeers?
The names of Father Christmas reindeers are Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen and Rudolph. They can fly, balance on rooftops and see in the dark. They like carrots so don’t forget to leave some out on Christmas Eve!
