The Brother HL-L6250DN uses Brother DR3400 toner cartridges. Brother DR3400 toner comes in black; the black cartridge prints 50,000 pages.
The Brother HL-L6250DN is a standalone monochrome laser printer that is a good fit for small or medium-sized offices that need to print high volumes. This printer has some commendable features and a high paper capacity with the ability to extend if necessary. It offers one of the lowest running costs for a monochrome laser printer. It also has some good security features, including an integrated near-field communications card reader.
The Brother HL-L6250DN is a compact printer measuring just 373 x 287 x 388mm, meaning that it easily fits on a desktop and is light enough to move easily. It has a range of connectivity options, including USB, Wi-Fi, Ethernet, Wi-Fi Direct and NFC. In addition, it has a USB 2.0 port at the back, which is used for connecting an external IC card reader. The integrated NFC card reader and IC card reader may be used to authenticate users to release secure printing jobs. These security features can be used to print from cloud sites such as Google Cloud Print. The printer can also connect to Apple AirPrint, Mopria, Brother iPrint & Scan and Brother Office Print. Apart from an 18-inch touchscreen. the Brother HL-L6250DN control panel only has Home, Back and Cancel buttons.
The Brother L6250DN has low running costs but churns out terrific-looking text. When printing A4 documents, it can achieve a respectable 46ppm. This drops with documents with heavy graphics but remains reasonable when compared to similar printers. Cartridges for the printer offer a high yield, allowing more time before a replacement is required, which adds to their lower cost and provides good value.
Although the Brother HLL6250DN produces great text, it is lacking when it comes to photos and graphics when compared to similar printers. Its output is acceptable for internal documents, but some may feel that it is not good enough for client material. It does not support colour printing, so if you require this, then look elsewhere. When compared to other printers in its class, it can seem dated.
