The Brother MFC-1910 uses Brother DR1050 toner cartridges. Brother DR1050 toner comes in black; the black cartridge prints 10,000 pages.
The Brother MFC 1910 All-in-One is a mid-range mono laser printer, with all-in-one fax, scan and copy functions. It is one step up from most inkjet printers and offers excellent print quality for home and office. The automatic document feeder (ADF) allows users to load large paper quantities without the worry of paper jams. It can be connected by USB, is user-friendly and is suitable for busy home offices or small companies.
Measuring 385mm x 340mm x 255mm, this device is of average size. The ADF is located at the base, while the flatbed scanner/photocopier are at the top of the Brother MFC1910. A rather small interface screen is situated just below the scanner. Legibility leaves a lot to be desired, and users can just about read the printer status and selected function. The body of the device is predominantly white in colour, while the display panel area and document output tray are black.
Those seeking a reasonably priced laser all-in-one will fare well with the Brother MFC 1910. Printer speeds are decent at 20 ppm. We found little difference in print quality between the three different available settings – even the lowest dpi setting produced crisp texts and sharp images. The ADF is very convenient when printing multiple pages, and has a 150-page capacity. The flatbed scanner and fax are comparable in quality to most all-in-ones and include all the usual features.
Users can not connect to the Brother MFC 1910 wirelessly, for that you need the 1910w model. The interface screen on the Brother MFC 1910 is rather small. The text is barely legible, and this is quite unacceptable for a device in this price range. Though users get a laser printer at a reasonable price, some inkjets on the market are more user-friendly, stylish and produce prints of equal if not better quality.
