The Brother MFC-7460DN uses Brother DR2200 toner cartridges. Brother DR2200 toner comes in black; the black cartridge prints 12,000 pages.
A step up from the MFC 7360, the Brother MFC-7460DN multifunction printer adds automatic duplexing to its feature set. This monochrome laser printer can fax, scan, and copy at the same time, making it a suitable choice for small work environments as well as for home use. The Brother MFC-7460DN is also a high-resolution printer, offering not only crisp text outputs but sharp graphics as well. The machine, however, is still only a monochrome printer. Users will have to purchase a separate machine for colour prints.
The Brother MFC-7460DN boasts a sleek all-black finish, unlike the MFC 7360 model. It still has the same features, including the 35-sheet automatic document feeder, 250-sheet standard paper tray, mono-laser printer base, and flat bed scanner/digital copier on top. The control panel of the Brother MFC 7460DN shares the same LCD screen and intuitive control buttons. This device runs on a 32 MB built-in memory.
The Brother MFC-7460DN offers versatile connectivity, providing a USB port for direct connection to a single computer, along with an Ethernet port for networking over multiple computers. The machine has the same maximum resolution yield as the 7360, which reaches up to 2400x600 dpi, and the fax machine can transmit documents in as little as 3-5 seconds.
Some disadvantages of using the Brother MFC-7460DN include low quality scans and lack of wireless connectivity. The machine also does not have any paper handling upgrade options, which may limit productivity in high-demand work groups, especially with the meagre capacity of the paper tray (250 sheets).
