The Canon IR-2318 is a monochrome multifunction laser printer incorporating a printer and copier into one unit. It has the ability to print up to A3 size. It will work well in a small office that requires a reliable printer to produce good quality monochrome documents. With a generous paper capacity, printer downtime is kept to a minimum, but to take full advantage of this, it will cost you extra. However, if space is limited and you require colour printing or other office functions, this is unlikely to be the best printer for you. If multiple users are likely to use this printer, be aware that wireless connectivity is only available as an optional extra.
Design
The Canon IR-2318 measures 81 x 81 x 75cm and comes in a white design that will fit in well with most colour schemes. Print speeds are 18ppm, and the resolution is 600 dpi. A paper cassette holds 350 sheets, but there is the option to expand paper capacity up to 1080 sheets. The connection to the computer is achieved via a USB interface. The printer is monitored from a control panel on the top of the device, which includes a five-line backlit display screen.
